Woodlands Board Tackles Infrastructure, Taxes, Energy

The Woodlands Township Board of Directors addressed a comprehensive agenda touching on major infrastructure, environmental, and financial matters during its meeting on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Kicking off at 6:00 PM in the Board Room at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., the board’s decisions are poised to significantly impact traffic flow, pedestrian safety, water management, and utility services for residents across the community.

A primary focus of the meeting involved advancing critical transportation projects. Directors considered resolutions to move forward with plans for two new pedestrian tunnels, designed to enhance safety and connectivity. On the financial front, the Board considered an agreement with the Montgomery County Tax Assessor/Collector for property tax collection services, a routine but essential function for local governance. A more contentious item involved a resolution opposing mandatory participation in a retail energy provider choice program by Entergy Texas, Inc.
