**THE WOODLANDS, TX** – The search for Joshua “Josh” Dean Caldwell, a 30-year-old Humble resident last seen in The Woodlands, has intensified with volunteer search and rescue teams joining law enforcement in a concentrated effort. Caldwell was reported missing this week, and his family has expressed deep concern, noting he was battling depression following a recent breakup.

Caldwell was last seen on Monday, March 18, 2024, in the vicinity of the 23000 block of Sawmill Road in The Woodlands. He was reportedly wearing a black hoodie and black shorts. His silver 2008 Cadillac Escalade was later discovered unoccupied in the same area where he was last sighted. His cell phone’s last known ping also placed him within The Woodlands.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) initiated a missing person investigation on Wednesday, March 20, after receiving a report transferred from the Humble Police Department. As the search entered its fourth day, the renowned non-profit organization Texas EquuSearch joined the efforts on Friday, March 22, significantly expanding the scope and resources dedicated to finding Caldwell.

Texas EquuSearch volunteers, known for their extensive experience in missing person cases across the nation, are currently focusing their search on a roughly 100-acre densely wooded area near Sawmill Road, not far from FM 1488. This challenging terrain requires specialized search techniques. Teams are utilizing ground searchers, highly trained K9 units, and drones to systematically cover the vast and often difficult-to-access territory.

Josh’s mother, Crystal Caldwell, has publicly shared that her son was going through a very difficult period. She told authorities that Josh was struggling with depression in the wake of a recent breakup, adding to the urgency and concern surrounding his disappearance.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information, no matter how minor it may seem, to come forward. The public’s assistance is critical in cases like this.
