The Woodlands Child Car Seat Safety Check

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office is urging parents and caregivers in The Woodlands to prioritize child safety by attending a free car seat safety check event scheduled for Friday, June 28, 2024. The initiative aims to significantly reduce child fatalities and serious injuries resulting from vehicle crashes, a leading cause of death for children aged 12 and under.

The event will take place from 9 AM to 1 PM at the South County Precinct 3 office, located at 1520 Lake Front Circle, Suite 200, in The Woodlands, TX 77380.

During the event, certified technicians will be on hand to provide comprehensive car seat inspections. Parents can expect assistance with ensuring their child’s car seat is installed correctly, checking for any potential recalls, and receiving valuable instruction on how to properly install and secure the seat themselves. This hands-on guidance is designed to empower caregivers with the knowledge needed to keep their children safe on every journey.

While walk-ins are welcome, the Constable’s Office strongly recommends scheduling an appointment to minimize wait times. Parents and guardians can secure a slot by calling 281-364-4201.

This vital community effort is a collaborative partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), backed by a Traffic Safety Grant. The grant underscores the commitment of state and local agencies to enhance road safety, particularly for the most vulnerable passengers.

Statistics consistently highlight the critical need for such events, revealing that a staggering number – often around four out of five car seats – are not installed correctly. An improperly installed car seat can drastically reduce its effectiveness in a collision, making professional verification an essential step in child passenger safety. The Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office emphasizes that ensuring correct installation can truly be a lifesaver, offering peace of mind to parents and enhanced protection for children.

This free service provides an invaluable opportunity for local families to receive expert advice and ensure their children are traveling as safely as possible.
