**Montgomery County Authorities Apprehend Suspect in November Spring Murder Case; No Bond Set**

**SPRING, TX –** After an extensive investigation spanning more than two months, Montgomery County law enforcement officials have arrested a suspect in connection with the November 2023 murder of Jose Orlando Flores in Spring. Jose Isaias Vasquez-Ajcuc, 24, was taken into custody in Houston on Friday, January 19, on a murder warrant.

Flores, 41, was discovered deceased from a gunshot wound in his vehicle on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. His car was found parked at a business located in the 28700 block of Interstate 45 North in Spring, near the Montgomery County line. The somber discovery prompted an immediate and thorough investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Homicide/Violent Crimes Detectives.

Detectives diligently worked to piece together evidence, employing forensic analysis, witness interviews, and reviewing surveillance footage from the area. Their persistent efforts ultimately led to the identification of Vasquez-Ajcuc as the primary suspect in Flores’s death.

Following his identification, a murder warrant was swiftly issued for Vasquez-Ajcuc’s arrest. The search for the suspect concluded on January 19, 2024, when the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, in close cooperation with MCSO detectives, successfully located and apprehended him. Vasquez-Ajcuc was found in the 11000 block of the East Freeway in Houston, Texas.

He was subsequently transported to Montgomery County and booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where he faces a murder charge. As of Sunday, January 21, 2024, Vasquez-Ajcuc is being held without bond, a common practice for serious violent felony charges, particularly murder, to prevent potential flight risks or danger to the community.

Authorities have not yet released details regarding a potential motive for the shooting or any known relationship between Flores and Vasquez-Ajcuc, as the investigation remains ongoing. Officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office commended the collaborative efforts of the Homicide/Violent Crimes Detectives and the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force for their dedication in bringing the suspect to justice.

Vasquez-Ajcuc is expected to make his initial appearance before a magistrate in the coming days, where he will be formally advised of the charges against him. Further details will be released as they become available and as the case progresses through the legal system.
