Research Forest Dr. Eastbound Closure Oct 30

**Research Forest Drive Eastbound Lanes to Temporarily Close Monday Morning for Key Project Installation**

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Drivers heading through The Woodlands on Monday, October 30th, should prepare for a temporary but significant traffic alteration on Research Forest Drive. Montgomery County Precinct 3 has announced a full closure of the eastbound lanes between Millennium Forest Drive and Shadowbend Avenue, beginning at 9:00 AM. The closure is expected to last for approximately one hour.

The brief shutdown is necessary to facilitate the installation of a crucial component for the ongoing Research Forest Mobility and Safety Enhancement Project, overseen by Commissioner James Noack’s office. This project aims to improve traffic flow and infrastructure along the busy corridor.

During the eastbound closure, westbound Research Forest Drive will be converted into a two-way traffic system to accommodate vehicles in both directions. Temporary striping and comprehensive traffic control measures will be in place, managed by Precinct 3 personnel, to ensure motorist safety and guide commuters through the adjusted flow.

“We understand that any road closure can be an inconvenience, and we appreciate the community’s patience as we work to complete vital infrastructure improvements,” said Commissioner James Noack. “This specific installation is a critical step in the Research Forest project, and by scheduling it during a typically lower-volume time for a short duration, we aim to minimize disruption. Our team will be on-site to ensure the temporary two-way system operates smoothly.”

Drivers who typically use this segment of Research Forest Drive around 9:00 AM on Monday are strongly encouraged to allow for extra travel time or consider scouting alternate routes if possible. While the closure is brief, unexpected delays can occur during traffic reconfigurations.

The Research Forest Mobility and Safety Enhancement Project includes various upgrades designed to enhance the corridor’s capacity and safety for residents and commuters. Updates regarding this and other Precinct 3 projects are regularly posted on the Montgomery County Precinct 3 website and Commissioner Noack’s social media channels.
