Montgomery County Back to School: Free Supplies & Food

Montgomery County families gearing up for the new school year will once again have crucial support thanks to Commissioner Riley and the Precinct 2 team, who are hosting their annual Back to School Bash. The popular community event, designed to equip students with essential supplies and offer a day of family fun, is scheduled for Saturday, August 10th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The Montgomery County Food Bank, located at 2221 N. Frazier St. in Conroe, TX 77301, will serve as the venue for this impactful gathering.

The primary goal of the bash is to ensure children in need have the necessary tools to begin the academic year strong. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive free school supplies and backpacks. However, families wishing to take advantage of these specific provisions must pre-register by a firm deadline: Monday, July 29th, at 5:00 PM. Pre-registration can be completed online by visiting mctxp2.org/backtoschool or by calling the Precinct 2 office at 936-539-7816. This advance registration is vital to help organizers accurately plan and ensure adequate resources are available for all eligible students.

Beyond school essentials, the event is designed to be a comprehensive resource fair and a fun community celebration. Free food assistance will be provided to all attendees on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, with no pre-registration required for this service. Families can also look forward to an array of engaging activities throughout the morning, including face painting, bounce houses for younger children, live musical entertainment, and refreshing treats. A unique highlight for many attendees will be the chance to explore first responder vehicles up close, offering an interactive and educational experience. Various community organizations will also be present, offering valuable information and resources to families.

Commissioner Riley emphasized the profound impact of community collaboration in fostering student success. “It is incredibly important for our community to come together and ensure every student has the tools they need to thrive in school,” Riley stated. “The start of a new school year can present financial challenges for many families, and this event aims to alleviate some of that burden while also celebrating our vibrant community spirit and setting our children up for success.” The annual bash has become a cornerstone event for Precinct 2, reflecting a commitment to educational support and family well-being in Montgomery County.

The success of the Back to School Bash relies heavily on community support. Individuals interested in volunteering their time, or vendors and community partners looking to participate and offer resources, are encouraged to get involved.
