Montgomery Co. Elections & Woodlands Events

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – As of October 20th, local elections and upcoming community events are prominently featuring in discussions across Montgomery County and The Woodlands, with residents preparing for significant decisions at the ballot box and opportunities for community engagement.

A primary focus remains the Conroe ISD school board election, with Election Day swiftly approaching on November 7th. This race has been particularly contentious, drawing scrutiny to a political action committee known as ‘Conservative Republicans of Montgomery County.’ Allegations of misleading postcards and potential campaign finance violations have been widely discussed, specifically impacting the Position 1 race where Melissa Dungan and Michelle Weinraub are competing. Dungan reportedly filed a complaint with the Texas Ethics Commission regarding the postcards. Other contested board positions include Stacey Chase vying for Position 2 against Ray Sanders, and Bill Beshears for Position 3 against Bobbi Jo Miller. Early voting for these critical races is set to begin on Monday, October 23rd, and will run through Friday, November 3rd. Meanwhile, The Woodlands Township Board of Directors election is also generating considerable interest, with four positions on the ballot. In Position 2, Kyle Watson and Linda Nelson are facing off. Position 3 sees John Anthony Brown and Jonathan Lopez as contenders, while Ann K. Snyder, the incumbent for Position 4, is running unopposed. These elections will culminate on November 7th. Beyond the ballot box, The Woodlands is preparing for its annual community-wide cleanup, The Woodlands GreenUp, scheduled for Saturday, November 4th.
