Missing New Caney Man, 82, with Dementia

**Silver Alert Issued: New Caney Man With Dementia Missing, Feared Headed Towards Louisiana**

**NEW CANEY, TX – May 31, 2024** – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has issued an urgent plea to the public for assistance in locating 82-year-old Billy Brizendine, who has been missing since Thursday morning. A Silver Alert has been activated due to his vulnerable medical condition.

Mr. Brizendine, who suffers from dementia and other serious medical conditions, was last seen around 11:30 AM on Thursday, May 30th, at his residence in the 12900 block of FM 1485 in the New Caney area. Authorities stress the urgency of the situation as he does not have his vital medications with him, nor does he have his cell phone, making his prolonged disappearance a critical concern for his health and safety.

When he was last observed, Brizendine was wearing a black t-shirt, khaki pants, and gray shoes. He is believed to be driving his white 2017 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck, bearing Texas license plate PFB6409.

Detectives believe Mr. Brizendine may be attempting to travel towards the Shreveport, Louisiana area. Family members reside there, and he is known to have driven that route previously. The drive from New Caney to Shreveport is approximately 3 to 4 hours, and authorities are coordinating with law enforcement agencies along the potential travel corridor.

The activation of a Silver Alert signifies that a missing person is an elderly individual with a cognitive impairment, placing them at increased risk. The public’s vigilance is crucial in these cases, as individuals with dementia can become disoriented and may not realize they are in danger.

“Every minute counts when a vulnerable person, especially someone with dementia and without their medication, is missing,” stated a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. “We are asking everyone, particularly those in Montgomery County and along the I-45/US-59/I-20 corridor towards Shreveport, to keep an eye out for Mr. Brizendine or his distinctive truck.”
