**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**

**Two Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Through South Montgomery County**

**SPRING, TX – May 16, 2024** – A routine patrol late Wednesday night escalated into a vehicle and foot pursuit, culminating in the recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of two individuals in the Spring Trails area, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reported.

The incident began around 11:30 PM on Wednesday, May 15, when MCSO deputies, on patrol near the 25400 block of I-45 in south Montgomery County, observed a vehicle behaving suspiciously. A check of the license plates quickly confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver refused to yield, leading law enforcement on a chase that wove through the residential streets of the Spring Trails neighborhood, an established master-planned community located east of I-45. The pursuit eventually ended when the stolen vehicle came to a stop. However, the occupants were not ready to surrender, exiting the vehicle and attempting to flee on foot.

Quick action by the pursuing deputies led to the apprehension of both suspects after a brief foot chase.

The driver was identified as 30-year-old Dylan Thomas Bell. He faces a litany of charges, including Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (a State Jail Felony in Texas), Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle (a Third-Degree Felony), Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot (a Class A Misdemeanor), and Possession of Marijuana (a Class B Misdemeanor).

The passenger, identified as 37-year-old Jennifer Darlene Mikeska, was also taken into custody. She has been charged with Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot (a Class A Misdemeanor) and Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport (a Class A Misdemeanor).

Both Bell and Mikeska were transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where they are currently being held awaiting bond proceedings and future court dates.

“Our deputies’ vigilance and persistence were key in this successful outcome,” stated an MCSO spokesperson. “Situations involving stolen vehicles and pursuits can be highly unpredictable, and we are fortunate that our officers were able to apprehend both suspects and recover the stolen property without further incident, ensuring the safety of our community members in Spring Trails and surrounding areas.”

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate vehicle thefts and related crimes, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Information regarding ongoing cases can often be found on the MCSO website or through official press releases.
