**Two Arrested, Charged with Murder in Magnolia Homicide Case**

**CONROE, TX** – Authorities have announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with the fatal shooting of Jose Mario Hernandez, whose body was discovered last Sunday in Magnolia. Michael Alan Jones, 28, and Joseph Michael Jones, 21, both of Houston, have been charged with murder and are currently held at the Montgomery County Jail.

The investigation began on Sunday, May 19th, when deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) were dispatched to the 33000 block of Dobbin Huffsmith Road in Magnolia after a deceased individual was reported. Upon arrival, EMS personnel confirmed the death. The victim was identified as Jose Mario Hernandez, and a preliminary investigation quickly determined that he had sustained a fatal gunshot wound, ruling his death a homicide.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit immediately launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. They were assisted by the Texas Rangers and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office in processing the scene, collecting evidence, and interviewing potential witnesses.

The collaborative efforts of these agencies, combined with intelligence gathered during the initial days of the investigation, quickly led detectives to identify potential suspects. Just three days after the discovery of Hernandez’s body, on Wednesday, May 22nd, the MCSO Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit, working in conjunction with the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, located and apprehended Michael Alan Jones and Joseph Michael Jones in Houston.

Both men were subsequently transported back to Montgomery County. They have each been formally charged with murder in connection with Hernandez’s death and are being held without bond pending initial court appearances. The rapid resolution underscores the dedicated work of local and state law enforcement in addressing violent crime in the community.
