Conroe ISD Board Approves $100M+ Staff Pay & Budget

**Conroe ISD Trustees Approve Over $100 Million for Employee Compensation, Adopt $679 Million Budget**

**CONROE, TX – June 19, 2024** – The Conroe Independent School District (CISD) Board of Trustees on Tuesday, June 18, gave final approval to a substantial financial package for its employees and the district’s operational budget for the 2024-2025 school year. The board’s decision allocates more than $100 million specifically for employee compensation, encompassing significant pay raises and a one-time payment for staff.

Under the newly approved plan, all teachers, librarians, and nurses will receive a $4,000 pay raise. Non-teacher employees across various pay grades are eligible for a 3% raise. In addition to these increases, a $1,500 one-time supplemental payment will be distributed to all eligible staff, which includes teachers, librarians, nurses, and other non-teacher roles.

These compensation adjustments are set to take effect swiftly. The recurring pay raises for the upcoming school year will begin on July 1, 2024. The one-time supplemental payment is scheduled to appear in employees’ payrolls as early as June 28, 2024.

Superintendent Dr. Curtis Null emphasized the strategic importance of these investments. “This move is really about recognizing the hard work of our staff and keeping Conroe ISD competitive when it comes to attracting and retaining talent,” Dr. Null stated. He further noted the district’s commitment to ensuring its compensation structure remains competitive with other districts, particularly in light of ongoing inflationary pressures on living costs.

The funding for these significant compensation increases will come from the district’s General Operating Fund.

Accompanying the compensation package, the Board also adopted the district’s overall budget for the 2024-2025 school year, totaling $679,252,656. This comprehensive budget accounts for the district’s robust growth and increasing operational demands. Conroe ISD anticipates an influx of approximately 2,000 new students next year, necessitating the hiring of additional staff, including more classroom teachers and support personnel. The budget also addresses rising operational costs across various sectors, such as utilities, maintenance, and insurance.

The approval underscores Conroe ISD’s commitment to supporting its workforce and maintaining high-quality educational services amidst rapid community expansion.
