Montgomery County Prepares for 2025 American Heart Association Heart Walk, Conroe ISD CEO Chairs Event

**THE WOODLANDS, TX** – The American Heart Association (AHA) is inviting Montgomery County residents to lace up their walking shoes and join the fight against heart disease and stroke at the 2025 Montgomery County Heart Walk. Scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, the annual event will take place at Northshore Park, located at 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive in The Woodlands, promising a morning of community, movement, and vital fundraising.

The day’s activities are slated to commence at 8:00 AM with registration and a variety of engaging experiences designed for all ages, including health screenings, sponsor booths, and family-friendly activities. The official walk kick-off is set for 9:00 AM, leading participants on a scenic route along Lake Woodlands Drive.

This crucial annual event serves as a cornerstone fundraiser for the AHA, channeling donations directly toward life-saving cardiovascular research and community-based health programs. These initiatives are designed to combat heart disease and stroke, which remain leading causes of death both locally and nationally. Funds raised also support educational programs aimed at prevention and promoting healthy lifestyles in the Montgomery County area.

Leading the charge for the 2025 walk is Amy M. Moody, the esteemed CEO of Conroe ISD, who is serving as this year’s event chair. Moody brings a passion for community well-being to her role, aiming to mobilize thousands for the cause. She is joined on the event leadership team by Michelle Waddle, a dedicated advocate for health initiatives.

“I’m deeply honored to chair the 2025 Montgomery County Heart Walk,” said Amy M. Moody. “This event is more than just a walk; it’s a powerful declaration of our community’s commitment to heart health and a healthier future for our children and families. As CEO of Conroe ISD, I witness daily the profound impact of health on education and quality of life, and I am dedicated to helping the American Heart Association advance its critical mission.”

Michelle Waddle echoed Moody’s enthusiasm, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the event. “The Heart Walk unites us all—individuals, families, and corporate teams—in a shared purpose,” Waddle stated. “It’s an inspiring day where we can all get active, raise awareness, and make a tangible difference in the fight against heart disease and stroke right here in our community.”

For over a century, the American Heart Association has been a leading force in cardiovascular health, funding breakthroughs and advocating for policies that save lives. The Montgomery County Heart Walk embodies the AHA’s mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.

“The Montgomery County Heart Walk is absolutely essential to our efforts to combat the leading causes of death worldwide,” stated Sarah Jenkins, Executive Director for the American Heart Association in Montgomery County. “Every step taken and every dollar raised directly fuels groundbreaking research, educates our community on prevention, and supports critical programs that save lives here in The Woodlands and beyond. We are profoundly grateful for the exceptional leadership of Amy Moody and Michelle Waddle, and for the unwavering support of our entire community.”

The Heart Walk is designed to be a community-wide effort, encouraging thousands of residents, families, and corporate teams to come together, get active, and contribute to a healthier future.
