**The Woodlands Township Election Approaches: Directors to be Chosen for Key Board Positions**

The Woodlands Township residents are preparing to head to the polls to elect two new members to the Township Board of Directors. On Saturday, May 4, voters will choose who fills Position 1 and Position 2, critical roles that shape the community’s future. The Woodlands Township, a special purpose district, functions as the primary governmental entity providing municipal-type services, including parks and recreation, solid waste services, covenant enforcement, public safety contracts, and economic development initiatives for the master-planned community. The directors, elected at-large, oversee the Township’s budget, policies, and strategic direction, directly impacting the quality of life for residents.

For Position 1, three candidates are vying for the seat: Richard Franks, Brad Bailey, and Craig Mares. The race for Position 2 features Jonathan Fredrics and Cindy Bass. All candidates are campaigning on various platforms, often addressing themes such as fiscal responsibility, traffic management, maintaining public safety, and preserving the community’s unique amenities. Registered voters living within The Woodlands Township, encompassing parts of both Montgomery and Harris counties, are eligible to cast their ballots.

Early voting offers residents a convenient opportunity to participate, beginning on Monday, April 22, and continuing through Tuesday, April 30. There will be no early voting on Sunday, April 28. Weekday early voting hours from April 22 to April 26 will be from 8 AM to 5 PM. On Saturday, April 27, polls will extend their hours from 7 AM to 7 PM. Following the Sunday closure, early voting resumes with extended hours from 7 AM to 7 PM on both Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30.
