Spring domestic shooting leads to arrest

SPRING, TX – An early morning shooting incident in Spring on Monday, June 3rd, led to the arrest of a 35-year-old woman after she allegedly shot a man multiple times during a domestic dispute. The incident occurred just after midnight at approximately 12:44 AM at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Sawdust Road.

Deputies with the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office responded to reports of a shooting. They found a 34-year-old male victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was conscious and cooperative with officers and was quickly transported to a local hospital. Officials stated the victim is expected to recover from his injuries.

The alleged shooter, identified as Ashley Rae White, 35, was still at the scene when law enforcement arrived. According to officials, White told deputies that the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute with the victim that escalated physically. She claimed the victim assaulted her and then retrieved a firearm. White reportedly stated she managed to take the weapon from him and fire it, striking him.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit, along with Crime Scene Investigators, were called to assist Precinct 3 with the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Following the preliminary investigation, Ashley Rae White was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Violence. She was subsequently booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where her bond was later set at $30,000. As of Monday, she remained in custody.

Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Violence is a serious felony offense in Texas, typically carrying a prison sentence of 2 to 20 years and a fine of up to $10,000. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
