Missing Man Andrew Brown Found Deceased in Lake Conroe

MONTGOMERY COUNTY – After nearly three months of an extensive search, Andrew Michael Brown, 34, who had been missing since late last year, was found deceased in Lake Conroe on Wednesday, February 14, authorities confirmed.

Brown was last seen on November 26, 2023, around 9:30 PM, leaving a residence located on Grand Harbor Boulevard. Just days after his disappearance, his grey 2017 Toyota Tundra pickup truck was discovered abandoned near the FM 1097 bridge in Willis, sparking immediate concerns for his safety and initiating a widespread search.

For months, a coalition of local and state agencies led a comprehensive search effort across the Lake Conroe area and surrounding terrain. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD), the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office Lake Patrol, Montgomery County Search and Rescue, Texas Game Wardens, and Texas EquuSearch participated in extensive ground, air, and water searches. Despite these persistent efforts, Andrew Brown remained missing.

The tragic discovery was made around 11:30 AM on Valentine’s Day when Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens located Brown’s body in Lake Conroe, specifically near the same FM 1097 bridge area where his truck had been found. Officials noted the somber coincidence that the wardens came across Brown while they were conducting an unrelated search for a different missing boater.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the active investigation into the circumstances surrounding Brown’s death. Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack has ordered an autopsy to be performed to determine the exact cause of death. While the investigation is ongoing, officials stated that at this stage, they are not indicating foul play.

Andrew Brown’s family has been notified of the heartbreaking discovery, bringing a tragic end to their long period of uncertainty and hope.
