THE WOODLANDS, TX – A 26-year-old man is in custody, facing felony charges for aggravated robbery and evading arrest, following an incident that began early Wednesday morning in The Woodlands. Christopher Michael Hogue was arrested hours after allegedly robbing an individual at gunpoint in a local Target parking lot.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the initial incident occurred on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, around 1:00 AM. A 41-year-old individual was reportedly getting into their vehicle in the Target parking lot, located at 1100 Lake Woodlands Drive. Deputies state that Christopher Michael Hogue approached the victim, brandished a firearm, and demanded money. The victim complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash, before Hogue fled the scene.

Later that same morning, around 8:00 AM, MCSO deputies received a call about a suspicious person in the Grogan’s Mill Road area. Patrol deputies responded and attempted to make contact with the individual, who they subsequently identified as Hogue. When deputies tried to speak with him, Hogue reportedly fled on foot.

To assist in the pursuit, MCSO deployed a K9 unit. The police dog successfully tracked Hogue to a nearby bush where he was attempting to conceal himself. Hogue was then taken into custody without further incident.

Christopher Michael Hogue has been charged with Aggravated Robbery of an Individual, a first-degree felony, and Felony Evading Arrest. His bond for the aggravated robbery charge has been set at $200,000, with an additional $10,000 bond for the evading arrest charge. Hogue is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail.

Aggravated Robbery is a serious offense in Texas, often carrying significant penalties due to the use or exhibition of a deadly weapon during the commission of a robbery. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has not released further details regarding the ongoing investigation.
