**Montgomery County Authorities Investigate Homicide After Man Found Deceased on I-45 Service Road in Spring**

SPRING, Texas – Law enforcement agencies in Montgomery County are actively investigating a homicide following the discovery of a deceased man with significant trauma along the Interstate 45 North service road in Spring earlier this week. The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Robert Kevin Miller of Houston.

The grim discovery was made on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at approximately 9:45 AM, when a Good Samaritan contacted the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). The caller reported finding a deceased individual in the 25900 block of the I-45 North service road, an area typically characterized by commercial businesses and access roads paralleling the busy interstate.

Upon arrival, MCSO deputies confirmed the presence of the deceased man and observed he had sustained what authorities described as “serious trauma.” The nature of the injuries was not immediately released by investigators.

The MCSO Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit swiftly took over the lead in the investigation, with the Texas Rangers joining to provide assistance due to the serious nature of the case. Together, these units have been working to process the scene, gather evidence, and piece together the circumstances leading to Miller’s death.

Authorities have since publicly identified the victim as Robert Kevin Miller. While his residence was in Houston, investigators are working to determine his connection to the Spring area and the location where he was found.

In a statement released to the public, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office indicated that they believe this was an “isolated incident.” This suggests that investigators do not view the attack as random and currently assess that there is no immediate threat to the wider community. The investigation is ongoing to identify a suspect or suspects and determine a motive.

Law enforcement is urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward. Members of the public who may have witnessed something unusual in the area on Tuesday morning, or who possess any details pertinent to Robert Kevin Miller’s activities leading up to his death, are encouraged to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office directly at 936-760-5800 and select option 3.

Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted through Multi-County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-392-STOP (7867). When providing information, callers should reference case number 24A053934. Information leading to an arrest and conviction may be eligible for a cash reward.

Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses and more details become available.
